Elite Trials

Background

Initially finding a Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy disc in his older brother's collection, so many years ago, Duncan began playing the game in single-player mode. After having beaten it on varying degrees of difficulty, running through each of the possible missions and arc twists near the end, he was satisfied. Though, it would not be until many years later that he would pick up the game again. Having finally received a decent PC to play games on, he decided to traverse through a selection of all perfectly good games. Finally moving on from his career in Mount and Blade: Warband, he scoured his Steam collection to find that he didn't have many games at all! It was his brother who then again introduced him, however unintentional, to Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. His older brother had purchased a HumbleBundle for Duncan which included though was not limited to the infamous game he has devoted so much of his time to currently.

It is at this point that he found interest in the game, having various stages of nostalgia as he remembered how poorly he had played the game when he was younger. After having played through singleplayer again he decided to move online, to the multiplayer community. After having created a thread on Steam requesting for pointers on how to get into the game in a better way, a person named Shwarts responded who became Duncan's temporary mentor. Despite the mentorship not lasting more than two months, they remained friends afterwards, though they did not part on bitter terms so much as Shwarts introduced Duncan to a community known as, JEDI.

JEDI is a role-playing community that delivers one of the best possible Jedi related experiences possible, at least in Duncan's opinion. It had been around since the Outcast days, being founded in 2003. Duncan endeavored into the community, finding his place there. He remained there and still remains there for about eight months before becoming curious about the multiplayer community outside of his loving role-playing clan. This is partially due to the fact that JEDI never associated with anyone outside of said community due to it being a private community, solely for role-playing purposes. After having become intrigued with Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast and going through it's single-player story, he decided pursue that desire of an interest in the multiplayer world, outside of JEDI.

Though Duncan is still apart of said role-playing community, he also likes to spend his time on a place he now knows as (JAWA). With the initial intention of familiarizing himself with the multiplayer community and the humble desire to improve his skill-set within the game, he connected to a server that, at the time, had a decent ping for him. This server was (JAWA). After having spent a week or two on the server, dodging around and enjoying the community as a whole, he decided to apply for membership. However, due to real life complications at the time, he had to withdraw his application. Not more than two months later did he return, seeming hesitant to apply once more, though he hung around the server for another two to three weeks before applying again. His application is due, in great part from encouragement, to a member known as Jacobie.

After having applied for the second time, Duncan was able to maintain relative activity and just became more and more ingrained with the community, enjoying it more and more as he went along. Though multi-tasking with his role-playing community and JAWA now, as well as the odd desire for another game at times, as well as his real life obligations and duties such as academics and sports, he always manages his time well, finding a welcoming place in (JAWA), regardless of his time constraints. And it is here, after having been granted membership, that the history and story of Duncan will continue. What path he may take from this point onward is unknown, though it is sure to be fruitful and fun!
