The final (JAWA) League of 2025 was held on Sunday the 28th, and featured seasonal maps, including Bespin Christmas, Christmas in Whoville, and Tatooine JAWA X-mas, among others. The competitions featured excellent attendance, with seventeen members participating in the Duel Tournament, and others joining during the course of events. The Duel Tournament finale was an epic battle lasting over seven minutes, the Merc War had many surprises, and there was a furious fight to the end in the TFFA! Redshadow won five events, while Cassidy claimed three titles! We also had two special events, Snowball Heaven and the Tauntaun Joust! Congratulations to all of this month's winners, and thanks to Redshadow and Grayfox for helping to host the (JAWA) League! Events and Winners: Green = first time winner! The (JAWA) Championship: In their seventh meeting of the year, Redshadow faced off against Grayfox. The first duel, lasting four minutes and twenty-three seconds, ended in a 42-point victory for the defending champion. Perhaps worn out by the two previous matches, Redshadow was unable to come back, losing by 110 in the second duel, which lasted a minute forty-six, for an astonishing time of thirteen and a half minutes over three bouts! It was Grayfox' third successful title defense in a row, securing his crown for the fourth consecutive month and seeing out the year! (JAWA) Darts: This month's competition was held on Board 3, with thirteen participants using the throwing platform that rotates around the board. Though on previous occasions this often held the scores low, this month saw several excellent scores, including five bullseyes, a triple-190, and a triple-170! The latter belonged to Wolfy, who finished with the score of the day at 880 points, easily outdistancing Sturg, who finished in second place with the triple-190—the best throw of the day—and a total of 670 points. Grayfox came in third, with one bullseye and 520 points. Watch Out for that Sniper! Thirteen participants took their turn on the Taspir landing pad this month, and for the most part they were held to single digits, but Redshadow set a high bar by surviving 19 seconds early in the competition! Though some prematurely congratulated him on his win, Cassidy made a run late in the event, falling just shy at 15 seconds, following closely on the heels of Kangy, who had lasted 11 seconds in the previous turn. Merc War: This month's Merc War was held at Whoville, where the unfamiliar terrain and weapon spawns produced a much more interesting competition! Unsurprisingly, Redshadow collected the first kill, taking out Chips, followed by Cheer sabering RedBlueGreen. Redshadow then sniped Sturg and Jepa, while Grayfox, perched atop the Grinch's Leap, sniped Helena, who had gone to the tram station. Redshadow rocketed Cheer, while Cassidy stylishly took out Kangy with the bowcaster! Redshadow rocketed Xel, then defeated Grayfox after a long-running battle with a homing missile. That left Cassidy, who finally fell to Redshadow in a pistol duel! Tauntaun Joust: The second special event of the day was held on the frozen pond at Whoville, the slick surface producing tricky vectors for all of the participants! When the snow cleared, Sturg sat alone atop his trusty mount! TFFA: The Blue Team: Redshadow (C), Kangy, Cassidy, Helena Revan, & RedBlueGreen The Red Team: Jepa (C), Cheer, Grayfox, Sturg, & Chips This month's TFFA was held on our custom Christmas map, Tatooine JAWA X-mas! The red team claimed the lead early on, and maintained it throughout the match, winning 100–88 at the end! Only three other members have ever managed to amass twenty wins in any category!

The (JAWA) League for November, 2025 was held on the afternoon of Sunday the 26th on the (JAWA) Server, and once again saw excellent attendance, with seventeen members participating in the Duel Tournament! The (JAWA) Championship saw yet another clash of champions, the FFA events were hotly contested, there were some upsets in the Tag-Team Tournament, the Darts and Sniper competitions saw the winning scores reached late in each, and it was a furious battle to the end in the TFFA! Redshadow won three events, and another event featured a first-time winner! Grayfox took the opening duel with 103 hit points to spare, then put an exclamation point on his title by winning the second duel with 155 remaining! Scores were up slightly from the previous month, when competitors switched between three different throwing platforms, and everyone managed to score. Redshadow took an early lead with the help of a bullseye, finishing at 570 points. Grayfox then took the lead three turns later, hitting the bullseye twice and finishing at 690! But the score of the day belonged to Sazen, who in the tenth turn scored 840 points with a bullseye and a triple-150! Ägent came in second, scoring 720 points at the very end, with Grayfox finishing in third. Watch Out for that Sniper! Fourteen participants took a turn on the platform this Sunday, and the snipers were on target once again! All of the competitors were held to single digits, and all within a narrow range! All of the scores were between 2 and 4 seconds until Sazen scored a 5 in the tenth turn! Two turns later, Xel bettered that with the day's lone 6, which proved good enough to win! Shadow closed out the event by tying Sazen for second place with 5. Merc War: Following last month's Merc War on City of Darkness, a more traditional contest unfolded along familiar lines! Grayfox and Shadow fought a running battle by the lava pool at the base of Building 1, which ended when Shadow knocked Grayfox into the lava, only to be killed by his opponent's homing missile, taking them both out of the competition! The field narrowed to Cassidy and Redshadow, who got the drop on his enemy in the elevator shaft of Building 1, and finished him off before Cassidy could escape, to claim the title that long since has become synonymous with the name Redshadow! TFFA: The Blue Team: Sazen (C), Redshadow, SephFF, Helena Revan, Sherwood, Xel, & RedBlueGreen The Red Team: Grayfox (C), Cassidy, Cheer, Ägent, Wolfy, & Jepa This month's TFFA was held at The Fortress, where the red team took an early lead in the long, narrow corridors, and never relinquished it, winning easily by a score of 120–104! The (JAWA) League for October, 2025 was held on the afternoon of Sunday the 26th on the (JAWA) Server, and saw excellent attendance for the Halloween League! Fourteen members participated in the Duel Tournament, which was held, along with the other early events, on Chandrila Halloween! Following the Duel Tournament, there was a clash of champions, followed by a crowded FFA field, and the Tag-Team Tournament! Cassidy won five events, and two events featured first-time winners! Grayfox won the opening duel handily, surviving with 123 hit points to spare, but Redshadow appeared to be making a comeback in the second duel, before Grayfox pulled out the win with 33 hit points remaining, to hold the crown for another month! Although the field as a whole showed improvement, and everyone made it on the board, scores tended toward the lower end of the range. The score of the day went to Xel, who scored 610 points with the help of a triple-120! Wolfy, always a strong contender, came in second with 550, aided by a triple-170, and Cassidy came in third at 520 with one of five bullseyes scored on the day! Watch Out for that Sniper! A crowded field held scores low this month, as only two of fourteen competitors reached double digits! The score of the day went to Redshadow, who survived thirteen seconds! Halo came in second at ten, followed by RedBlueGreen at 9 seconds! Merc War: This month's mercenary tournament was held on City of Darkness, and the action was fast and furious, filled with fearsome fighters dealing death and dodging disaster! Redshadow scored an early victory as he rocketed Sherwood. Grayfox and Cassidy teamed up, but when the ashen canid gave chase to Shadow, his quarry unexpectedly bolted him to knock him out of the competition! Redshadow and his dark counterpart fought a running battle across the map, ending when Redshadow was taken out with a thermal detonator! That left Shadow and Cassidy alone to contest merc supremacy, and Cassidy claimed the title, rocketing his opponent to stand alone on the battlefield! TFFA: The Blue Team: Cassidy (C), Redshadow, Kangy, Wolfy, Sovereign, & Cheer The Blue Team: RedBlueGreen (C), Grayfox, Sherwood, Halo, Xel, & Helena Revan This month's TFFA was to be held on City of Darkness, continuing from the Merc War. However, Xel and Sovereign crashed and were unable to reconnect. Multiple attempts to fix the issue by changing maps to Chandrila Halloween, and finally a base map, along with restarting the server and changing to FFA mode, failed to resolve the problem; even when able to join in FFA mode, they continued to crash when we returned to TFFA. We were never able to resolve the issue, and so reluctantly went ahead with the TFFA on Tatooine. The teams looked fairly even on paper, but thanks to a tremendous effort from their entire team, the blues took a lead and held it, winning by a final score of 100–90! A close match was to be expected, and the competitors did not disappoint, with Grayfox taking the opener with just 28 hit points remaining. The defending champion looked to come back in the second duel, but came up just short, leaving Grayfox the winner and new champion with 18 hit points to spare! (JAWA) Darts: This month's competition was held on Board 2, with a climb-the-ladder format: the first throw taken without any shields, the second between the first and fourth, and the last over all four deflector shields. The bullseye proved surprisingly elusive to the eleven competitors, with just two hitting the center, but the score of the day went to Shadow, who struck the triple-200 space late to finish with 810 points, passing Link, who hit two bullseyes and finished at 750, and Redshadow, who grabbed two more but missed his other throw, finishing in third place at 500. Watch Out for that Sniper! Fourteen participants took a turn on the field of ashes this month, and as often happens with a big crowd, scores were low, with all of the competitors held to single digits! Often the first to go out seem to do well, before the snipers lock in, but this month the best scores were clustered in the middle, with Cassidy scoring the first breakthrough with 7 seconds. Two turns later, Redshadow scored the best time of the event, at 9 seconds, with Link's time of 6 seconds coming in third, between the other two. Nobody else lasted longer than 4 seconds! Merc War: The crowded field in this month's merc frenzy lent itself to results both surprising and unsurprising! Jasp went out first when he was caught in the backwash from one of his own rockets, then Cassidy rocketed Wolfy, and Redshadow rocketed Helena Revan when she tried to sneak into his lair in Building 1. Redshadow then killed Cheer with a plasma burst, Cronus fell into the lava, Shadow sniped Giffy, and Halo took out Shadow with a rocket, before Redshadow rocketed him. Grayfox, Artemis, and IronSkull86 teamed up and tried to hold Building 1, but Redshadow smashed Artemis, tripped IronSkull, and got Grayfox to blow himself up! That left only Cassidy standing between Redshadow and the merc title that he prizes! In a rocket battle, Redshadow flushed Cassidy from Building 3. Cassidy headed toward building 1, and began to climb, but Redshadow knocked him down with the DEMP-2. Cassidy tried to recover, but took a bad jump and fell into the lava, leaving Redshadow the victor once more! Both teams were stacked with heavy hitters, but the blue team built a slight edge, and maintained it to the end, winning 120–114! There were a number of upsets in the Duel Tournament and the Tag-Team Tournament, and the Merc War, surprise wins in the Darts and Sniper competitions, and four events featured first-time winners! He quickly proved his drive to claim the coveted title, defeating the reigning champion in the first duel by a razor-thin 6 hit points! But Redshadow wasn't going to make it easy, and he came back to win the second duel with 81 hit points to spare, then put an exclamation point on his title, winning the third without a scratch, to keep the crown for another month! As usual, this tricky setup held scores low, and there were only three bullseyes scored during the event! Two of them went to Grayfox, who came in first with a score of 540 points! Shadow finished in second, scoring 480, and Evangeline came in a respectable third with 450. Watch Out for that Sniper! Thirteen members took part in this month's sniper competition, and there were no runaways this time, with the entire field held to single digits! The score of the day went to Kangy, who survived 6 seconds for the win, edging out SephFF and Donajello, who tied for second with 5. Merc War: The Merc War seemed to be proceeding normally this month. Evangeline was smashed by Haloex, and Redshadow detonated Helena on the main floor of Building 1. But fresh from rocketing Donajello, Kangy caught the Scarlet Warrior by surprise and took him out of the competition early! Unfortunately, Kangy then took a bad step and fell to his death, leaving Halo, SephFF, and Shadow to contest the title. Shadow rocketed Halo, then met SephFF for a melee battle on the small platform above the lava. After a fierce fight, Shadow threw his opponent to his doom to claim the crown! TFFA: The Red Team: SephFF (C), Haloex, Donajello, Redshadow, & Jasp The Blue Team: Grayfox (C), Evangeline, Shadow, Helena Revan, & Kangy By request, this month's TFFA was held on Vjun, where the tight space of the main area kept many of the fighters off balance. The (JAWA) League for June, 2025 was held yesterday afternoon on the (JAWA) Server, and featured near-record attendance, with a full server at one or two points, and twenty-six members participating in the Duel Tournament! There was a thrilling championship match, the Tag-Team Tournament featured some upsets, the Darts competition and TFFA finished in blowouts, while the Sniper event came down to a single second, and six events featured first-time winners! The (JAWA) Championship: In a rematch of last month's championship bout, Grayfox faced off against Redshadow, who had held the title since the March League. And Grayfox meant business, outlasting the defending champion in a slugfest in round 1, winning with 58 hit points to spare. But Redshadow wasn't out yet, and he put up a spirited defense in the second duel, before coming up short, and with 27 hit points remaining, Grayfox claimed the crown for the first time! Grayfox took an early lead with 800 points, only to be passed by Sazen, who scored 1,050 to take command! Try as they might, the other participants couldn't overtake that score, with Wolfy finishing in a second-place tie with Grayfox at 800 points. Watch Out for that Sniper! Sixteen participants braved the gauntlet of snipers this month, and unsurprisingly the scores were all in single digits! Unlike in most months, the first few turns were brief, before Haloex and then Duckusama each lasted for seven seconds, setting the bar for the rest of the field! In the eleventh turn, Viper broke through with a standout score of nine seconds, claiming the lead! Her only serious challenge came from RedBlueGreen two turns later, but Viper herself took her out in the nick of time, limiting the prismatic warrior to a score of eight, with Halo and Duckusama tied for third place. Merc War: For the sake of variety, this month's Merc battle was held at Byss, where the competitors battled it out in and around a cargo bay! The fighting was fast and furious. Viper seemed to have a fine position as the field swiftly narrowed, taking out first Helena Revan and then Sovereign as they passed by her redoubt. But Redshadow would not surrender the title so easily, and he confused the wily merc with a rain of flechette bombs dropped through the upper level trapdoor, claiming yet another crown when she succumbed to his onslaught! TFFA: The Red Team: Viper (C), Grayfox, Helena Revan, Sazen, SephFF, Zajac, Aya Solari, RedBlueGreen, & T` The Blue Team: Haloex (C), Chips, Link, Redshadow, Sovereign, Dragon, Duckusama, & KøRn This month's TFFA was held on Ord Mantell, where most of the competitors squeezed onto a small porch on a big map! The Blues jumped out to an early lead, and held it, pressing their advantage throughout the round, and winning in a 120–78 blowout! Once again, we were treated to an exciting championship bout, several competitive rounds in the FFA events, a last-minute thriller in the Sniper competition, and three events featured first-time winners! Pressing on, Grayfox looked to outlast his opponent in the second round, but again fell short, leaving Redshadow with the title and 36 hit points remaining! (JAWA) Darts: Nine competitors took their turns on Board 3 this day, throwing from the platform that revolves around the board. Despite the difficulty, the participants managed two bullseyes and a triple-200, the latter propelling Wolfy to the win, as he finished with a score of 770 points! Aided by the first bullseye of the day, Redshadow finished second, at 470, while Dragon placed third at 440. Watch Out for that Sniper! Nine snipers ran, dodged, and weaved through a hail of disruptor fire, and this month's scores varied more widely than they have of late! Redshadow started off with a time of seven seconds, edging out Helena Revan, who followed him with six. The next several competitors were held to times of three seconds or less, before Shadow took the lead, lasting twelve seconds! In the final attempt of the competition, RedBlueGreen evaded disintegration for a whopping twenty-eight seconds, more than doubling the nearest score, to win the event! Shadow finished in second place, with Redshadow in third. Merc War: This month's Merc battle saw the various competitors looking to break the mold of past contests by seeking their targets more aggressively. At first this strategy paid off, as Wolfy smashed Helena Revan with a plasma discharge, and Loki unexpectedly sabered Sturg. When the rockets came out, Wolfy took out Loki, while Shadow eliminated Grayfox. Wolfy fell out of the competition and into a lava pool, while Redshadow pursued Shadow, finally sabering him for the kill. That left perennial favourites Redshadow and Dragon, who met once more on the small platform above the lava for a melee fight. Unlike some past battles, this one ended fairly quickly, as Dragon dispatched his opponent with a powerful kick off the platform, to win the event! TFFA: The Red Team: Wolfy (C), Redshadow, Shadow, Loki, & Helena Revan The Blue Team: RedBlueGreen (C), Grayfox, Dragon, Sturg, & Zsoltlustmaster This month's TFFA was held on Vjun, where close quarters posed an additional challenge due to team hits and kills! But the red team took the lead early on, and steadily expanded on it, winning by a final score of 100–73! The championship match was a display of skill by two titans of the clan, there were close finishes in several of the FFA events, and the Darts competition came down to a single second. The match didn't disappoint, as the two fighters exchanged blows in a prolonged first duel, which Redshadow claimed with 41 hit points to spare! AcéS looked to even the standings in the second duel, which was no less intense! But when the final blow was struck, it was Redshadow standing victorious, with 19 hit points remaining, to hold the championship for another month! (JAWA) Darts: Twelve competitors took their place at Board 2, taking one throw flat, one with two deflector shields up, and the last with all four shields activated. The differing angles caused widely-varying results, with totals from 200 and under, alongside those over 1,000! There were three bullseyes, but the score of the day went to Dragon, who found the triple-200 space twice to finish at 1,200 points! Redshadow came in second place, at 1,050 points and one bullseye, while third place went to Helena Revan, at 650 points and one bullseye. Watch Out for that Sniper! The twelve contestants took turns evading screaming disruptor shots, and their rooftop companions were on the mark, holding the entire field to single digits this month! AcéS led off the event by surviving for six seconds, fending off an early challenge by Dragon with five, and another by Seph with four. Nobody else was able to top these three scores, though Apollyon closed the competition by tying Seph for third place on the day with four seconds. Merc War: Though this month's battle featured many familiar faces, some of them chose to vary their routines, with less rocketry and more close and long-range weaponry, featuring the disruptor rifle and heavier use of detonation packs than has occurred in recent memory! Early on, Wolfy entered Dragon's lair, and the two engaged in a rocket battle, in which Wolfy fell victim to the backsplash from one of his own rockets. Shadow then sniped Xel on the long bridge, while Redshadow detonated Helena as she entered building 3 at the base, looking to replenish her shields, then did the same to SephFF. Zsoltlustmaster fell prey to Shadow's sniping skills, while Sherwood was detonated by Redshadow. Shadow entered Dragon's fortress, and got the drop on him in an ambush on level 2, only to become the final casualty of Redshadow's detpack rampage on the porch outside! TFFA: The Red Team: Aya Solari (C), AcéS, Wolfy, SephFF, & Helena Revan The Blue Team: Zsoltlustmaster (C), Redshadow, Sherwood, Dragon, & Cheer This month's TFFA was held on Tatooine, and with so much talent in the field it was hard to keep up with the action! The blue team took an early lead behind Redshadow and Sherwood, cutting a swath of destruction through the reds. But AcéS proved even more formidable for red, and although his teammates, led by Wolfy, struggled to keep up, they still fought on and took a slight lead partway through, and doggedly refused to fall back into second place, finishing ahead by six, for a 100–94 victory! With seven participants remaining, it looked to be a tight contest, and it didn't disappoint! Unlike last month, when fully half the field reached double digits, only two of this month's snipe fodder reached that mark, with Helena Revan leading off with a score of 11 seconds, only to be bested at the end by Sherwood, who lasted 12 seconds despite being shot twice by Helena! SephFF came in a close third with 9 seconds, while the rest of the field was held under 5! Merc War: This month's merc competition was a return to form, though with some unusually aggressive play entertaining the spectators as their numbers swelled through attrition! Helena Revan claimed the first kill, homing SephFF on the main pad. Seph didn't perish immediately, but was pushed onto the lower level, where Helena caught up to him and tripped him! Meanwhile, Dragon took out Wolfy with a rocket, while Redshadow tripped Jazzy, then caught Zsoltlustmaster with detpacks! Sherwood fell to Helena in a rocket battle on the first level of building 1, but then Helena blundered into Dragon's upper mine trap, setting up a final battle between Redshadow and Dragon! They agreed to melee for the title above the lava, and this time Dragon's skills were up to the challenge, as he kicked the scarlet destroyer to his doom to claim another crown! TFFA: The Blue Team: Jazzy (C), Helena Revan, Dragon, Wolfy, & Babu Frik The Red Team: Zsoltlustmaster (C), SephFF, Redshadow, & Sherwood This month's TFFA was held on the Death Star, which outpolled Korriban 4–1. Babu Frik arrived late, and was initially going to be on the red team, but they volunteered that he seemed to make the teams unfairly slanted toward red, so instead he went to blue. Sherwood had to leave partway through the round, leaving red shorthanded, but they fought hard to the end! When the smoke cleared, blue came away with an 80–66 win. Watch Out for that Sniper! Eight competitors remained for this month's sniper competition, and half of them reached double digits, led by AcéS, at 19 seconds! Shadow came in second at 16, followed by Helena Revan in third, lasting 14. Merc War: This month's Merc War unfolded without Redshadow, who had to leave earlier in the League, and a number of other participants sought to take advantage! Dragon rocketed Sturg, and Xel took out Helena with a similar barrage, while Wolfy eliminated Ken Solo with a burst of plasma on the small platform above the lava. Shadow rocketed Wolfy on the third floor of Building 1, then took out Xel the same way, before losing to Dragon in a rocket duel. That left only Dragon and SephFF, but SephFF got stuck in a glitch and was unable to escape, handing the victory to Dragon! Each of the ten participants had to throw through a gap in the deflector shields, with the first throw going underneath shield 2, the second between shields 1 and 3, and the last between shields 2 and 4! This proved frustrating for many of the competitors, who struggled to get their sabers through the narrow gaps between shields, and kept scores low! Wolfy had the round of the day, scoring 650 points with the aid of the contest's lone bullseye! Xel finished in second place at 460, followed by Helena Revan at 450. Watch Out for that Sniper! Nine snipers took their turns on the Taspir landing pad this day, and generally scores were low as they aimed well. KøRn took the early lead, lasting eleven seconds in turn 3. That looked like it would hold up until, in the very last turn, Shadow doubled his score by surviving for twenty-two seconds! Helena Revan and Xel tied for third at just five seconds! Merc War: Though a number of favourites were present at this month's Merc War, the results were anything but orthodox! After Sovereign homed Xel, Redshadow did the same to his perennial rival, Shadow, only to be spiked by Zsoltlustmaster's timely use of the Flechette gun! Wolfy and Sovereign faced off on the long bridge, where Wolfy downed his foe with rockets, only to fall to his death in a Gollumesque moment of victory! That left Helena Revan and Warlock. After resupplying her rocket belt, Helena went in search of her witchy rival, and discovered him setting trip mines on the main level of Building 1. Taking aim, she fired a salvo of rockets that did their work, dispatching her last remaining opponent and handing her a rare and coveted win! Early in the event, Zsoltlustmaster struck gold with a triple-190, finishing with 710 points, a lead that proved insurmountable! Helena Revan came in second, with 400, and Dragon finished in third at 330. Watch Out for that Sniper! Eleven snipers took their turn on the landing pad this afternoon, and scores varied widely from turn to turn, with some of the shortest times coming at the beginning of the competition, an unusual reversal of the typical situation! Wolfy seemed in command after five rounds, with his score of 18 seconds more than three times as long as any other time. But in the final turn of the match, Haloex proved nigh unhittable, surviving for 28 seconds, the best score of the year! AngelModder came in third, with 9 seconds. Merc War: This month's Merc War was held at the North Pole, and was beset by a series of glitches, some foreseen and some unforeseen, which knocked out some of the competitors and led to an interesting result, in which Shadow shot Zsoltlustmaster, while Redshadow risked death to detonate Helena Revan, before being sabered by Shadow, the first time in a long while that a lightsaber has struck the final blow in the merc war! Tauntaun Joust: This seasonal event was going to be held at the North Pole, but after further investigation revealed that tauntaun collisions were almost invariably fatal, it was moved to Bespin Christmas. Helena Revan was the final rider after all of the others had been sabered. Snowball War: Also held on Bespin Christmas, this event featured only snowballs, but unlike Snowball Heaven the whole map was in play as though for a merc war! The final confrontation came at the large ice patch below the landing pad, where Helena Revan tried to knock RedBlueGreen out of the competition. RBG took shelter behind a snowman, but somehow the impact of the final snowball knocked him backward and over the edge to his doom, giving Helena her second victory in a row! It was a lightly-attended affair, with just nine members participating in the Duel Tournament, but it was no-less hotly contested! Dragon won four events, Sherwood won three, five events featured first-time winners, and there were ties in both Watch Out for that Sniper and the Merc War! Wolfy put up 730 points to finish in second place, well ahead of Darman's 450 with one bullseye, which was good enough for third. Watch Out for that Sniper! Eight snipers remained for today's competition, but even with the small field they struggled to reach double digits! In fact, only two did—barely—with Redshadow and Dragon tying at just ten seconds for the win! Helena Revan came in third, falling short with a time of eight seconds. Merc War: This month's Merc War got off to a rough start on the long bridge, as Shadow sniped Helena Revan, then Halo smashed Xel, and Shadow knocked Darman into the lava! Wolfy rocketed Sherwood, and after a lengthy rocket duel in the Dragon's Lair, Halo bit the dust! Redshadow emerged from his hideout to give chase to Shadow, whom he homed to narrow the field to three! But then, to everyone's surprise, Redshadow ran out of Force as he made an ill-advised jump and fell to his doom in the lava pit! Dragon and Wolfy remained, each setting traps for the other, but time expired with the score tied, leading to the first Merc War tie in two years! TFFA: The Red Team: Wolfy (C), Xel, & Dragon The Blue Team: Sherwood (C), Helena Revan, Haloex The battle took place on Tatooine this month, and Blue Team captain Sherwood led the way, scoring an event-high 25 points and 10 over .500, backed by the only other positive ratio on the day, turned in by Halo, as blue won by a final score of 60 to 47. Sovereign took the early lead with 700 points, and seemed to go unchallenged until Wolfy, in the very last turn, topped him with an outstanding 960 to win the event! Sovereign had to settle for second, with a wide gap separating him from third-place finisher Helena Revan, who scored 370. Watch Out for that Sniper! Ten snipers took their turn on the field of ashes this day, and despite the small field their aim was spot on, with none of them reaching double digits! The best score was turned in by Yakoshi, who lasted eight seconds, beating out Shadow, who finished in a close second with seven. Dragon took third place with a score of five. Merc War: For the Halloween League, this month's Merc War was held on City of Darkness! Fresh off his win in the sniper competition, Yakoshi hoped to make his way through the Merc War, but was stopped short in an unusual pistol duel by Kangy! But the polar marsupial's victory was short-lived, as he was soon sniped by Redshadow. Shadow bested Sherwood in a rocket fight, and with all of the other competitors eliminated it soon became a battle of wills between two of the deadliest shots in the clan! But Shadow's movement was hampered when he retreated into the water, and the savvy Redshadow jumped in and sabered him to claim the title! TFFA: The Red Team: Sovereign (C), Redshadow, Helena Revan, & Kazma The Blue Team: Dragon (C), Sherwood, Kangy, & Yakoshi Like the Merc War, the Halloween TFFA took place on City of Darkness, and though the fighting was fierce, the red team won through by the sheer force of Redshadow, who scored nearly half of his team's points by himself! (JAWA) Darts: In honour of the 20th Anniversary of our clan, this month's Darts competition was a throwback, held on Board 1 using Link's dart board design, and the adjustable platform set to the highest level. We were originally going to use a custom map designed by Artemis, but technical issues caused the server to crash during testing. We were still able to use Artemis' custom dart saber, with a special design featuring red and green darts! Eighteen participants took three throws from this position, and a number of them needed practice throws (taken level with the board) so the competition took longer than usual, and the custom saber hilt combined with the unusual board design resulted in some very random scores! Wolfy led off the competition with 1,300 points, which led until Helena Revan hit two 700's and a 500 to score 1,900 points. Maverick followed up with a similar combination, two 500's and a 700, to finish with 1,700. Despite a crowded field, nobody else was able to reach these two, with Tusko, Blunt, and RedBlueGreen tying for third place at 1,500 points in back-to-back-to-back turns, each of them hitting the 500 space with all three throws! Watch Out for that Sniper! By this time, the afternoon had taken its toll on many members, who decided to call it a day, but ten still remained for the sniper competition! Normally a smaller field bodes well for the scoring, with multiple participants reaching double digits, and sometimes over twenty seconds! But not so today, as the snipers were on target—and for the first time in the history of the event, three participants tied for the best score at just six seconds! This month's winners were Wolfy, Helena Revan, and RedBlueGreen; nobody else lasted longer than four seconds. There have been three-way ties in the Merc War (once) and (JAWA) Darts (two or three times), but this was the first three-way tie in Watch Out for that Sniper! Merc War: Shadow dominated this month's merc war with an unorthodox tactic, taking to the heights early with the DEMP-2 rifle to harry the other competitors! After Helena Revan rocketed RedBlueGreen in a battle on the long bridge, EMP bursts forced her into an ambush by Link, who rocketed her. Shadow then electrocuted Wolfy. Link and Beggsy teamed up and set an ambush on the third level of Building 1, but Shadow came up the outside while they were staking out the elevator shaft, and surprised them, taking them both out. The only other survivor being Dragon, they met once more on the small platform above the lava for a melee duel. Dragon was unable to get a hold of his opponent to throw him into the lava, but he kept his place on the platform until he was finally bludgeoned to death, leaving Shadow victorious! TFFA: The Blue Team: IronSkull86 (C), Link, Myth, & Helena Revan The Red Team: Beggsy (C), Shadow, Dragon, & RedBlueGreen By request, this month's TFFA took place on Taspir III, with one team consisting entirely of current active members, and the other half active and half former members! It looked to be a rough day for the red team, as blue jumped out to an early lead, and maintained it for the first half of the battle, before blue managed to eke out its first lead of the day. The two sides traded the lead back and forth for a bit, before blue finally pulled ahead to stay, winning by a final score of 80–74! Please note that "FumbleBumbleBeeDumbleDee" is former council member Myth, participating in the League for the first time since 2007! To their credit, every competitor hit the board and scored with at least two throws. SephFF took an early lead, hitting one of four bullseyes on the day, and finishing with 820 points. Wolfy made a run at the lead late, hitting the triples ring with a well-placed throw, but falling just short at 800. Relegated to throwing last by an uncoöperative router, Helena Revan managed to spear the triple-200 space with one throw, and finished her turn with an outer bullseye to finish with 960 points and win the event! Watch Out for that Sniper! The field narrowed down to seven for this month's Sniper competition, with a small group favourable to higher scores. Dizzy led off with an outstanding 17 seconds, consistent with expectations, but the next three participants all fell in one second or less! From out of nowhere, Kangy then dodged his way to a tie with Dizzy, but he proved the exception, as the last two participants also fell within the first second! Merc War: The usual suspects made short work of their opponents this month, as Helena Revan rocketed Kangy at main, and Sherwood fell prey to Dragon's trip mines. Redshadow homed Helena on the long bridge while she tried to take out Wolfy. The furry fighter nearly homed Redshadow in his turn, but the scarlet varlet escaped through a doorway in the nick of time. Dragon emerged from his lair to rocket Wolfy, then agreed on a melee fight with Redshadow above the lava. But fate wasn't on his side, as Redshadow threw him into the molten rock to win the competition once more! TFFA: The Blue Team: Dizzy (C), Sherwood, Helena Revan, Kangy, & Loki The Red Team: Redshadow (C), Dragon, SephFF, & Wolfy The battle took place on Tatooine this month, and early on the two teams traded the lead as blue seemed to punch above their weight. But as time passed, the red team began to build an insurmountable lead, adding to it with each minute, and winning by a final score of 90–74. The 200 wedge was popular, but overall scores were low, with just one bullseye hit during the event! The score of the day belonged to AcéS, who threw the event's only triple-200, and finished with 800 points! Second place went to Skeetshooter, who hit the double-200 space and finished at 610, while Wolfy dialed in the 200 space three times to finish in third place at an even 600. Watch Out for that Sniper! A dozen snipers took their places on the Taspir rooftops, and in a welcome change from recent months the runners notched a wide variety of scores, with relatively few quick exits despite the large field! Three participants reached double digits, and only as many were cut down in less than three seconds. For the second consecutive event, AcéS claimed the title, lasting an outstanding 23 seconds in his run, and winning by a comfortable margin of 8! Second place went to Loki, who lasted 15 seconds, just ahead of Xel, who turned in an excellent score of 13. Merc War: Although a number of fresh faces entered the fray, a familiar group emerged from the smoke after some blistering battles, with Dragon, Redshadow, and Shadow sweeping away the competition, and agreeing—after some hesitation—to a three-way melee battle above the lava! In past months, these adversaries have waged some epic matches on that tiny platform, but this day's was short, as Shadow threw Dragon to his doom shortly after the fight began, only to be bludgeoned by Redshadow shortly afterward! TFFA: The Red Team: Redshadow (C), Loki, NitRzr, Skeetshooter, Dragon, & Pandorum The Blue Team: AcéS (C), Helena Revan, Wolfy, Shadow, & RedBlueGreen The battle took place at the Massassi Temple on Yavin IV, with Red appearing to have the advantage in personnel, but AcéS steadied the Blue team with good advice at the beginning, and they stuck with their opponents throughout the match, the two teams exchanging the lead multiple times, before Blue took a slight lead near the close, and finished the event with a three-point win, 100–97! That defied all the efforts of the ten remaining competitors, with RedBlueGreen and Helena Revan tying for second place at 530 points. Watch Out for that Sniper! Ten competitors took their turn on the Taspir landing pad this month, and all were held to single digits! Leading off again, Shadow lasted nine seconds to set the pace! And try as he might in his turn, Redshadow fell just short this time, at 8 seconds. Nobody else was able to keep up with the Shadows, with AcéS coming the closest at 6. Merc War: Sovereign threw a wild card into this month's Merc War when he surprised Redshadow on the lower platform, just above the lava, as the Scarlet Destroyer was looking to line up a sniper shot, and knocked him off his pedestal with a rocket to end his day prematurely! Continuing on the offensive, Sovereign went looking for Dragon, and successfully infiltrated his lair, only to fall in an intense firefight with the Royal Reptile. Shadow and Dragon then agreed to meet for a melee battle above the lava, and here Shadow prevailed, kicking Dragon just out of reach of the edge to his doom, to win his second straight event! Second place went to Xel, who threw for 710 points, while Redshadow came in third at 690. Watch Out for that Sniper! Nine competitors met upon the field of ashes this month, and while all but one of the participants was held to single digits, Redshadow dodged and weaved to a first-place finish with a time of 15 seconds! Xel finished in second for the second consecutive event, surviving for 9 seconds, while Zsoltlustmaster came in third at 7! Merc War: New faces met old across the battlefield, with an unusual finish! Grayfox was tripped while trying to enter the Dragon's lair, and after Wolfy rocketed Haloex, and Zsoltlustmaster fell victim to the lava lake, Wolfy was sniped by Shadow, who then blew himself up while trying to take out Redshadow! Helena Revan and Dragon had been coöperating, but with time running out and Dragon leading the field 1–0 due to Shadow's unfortunate accident, which denied Redshadow a much-needed point, Helena went to confront the Scarlet Destroyer! Despite an early hit with a homing missile, she couldn't notch the kill, and the two crossed the map to wind up on a shadowy balcony overlooking the lava lake! Though Redshadow had the clear advantage, he couldn't secure the kill before time expired, leaving Dragon the winner! Despite the straightforward angles, scores were generally low, with just three bullseyes among fourteen competitors! Wolfy took the early lead at 600 points, striking the 200 space with each throw. He was soon tied by Shadow, but then in the ninth turn, Redshadow vaulted into the lead with the day's first bullseye and a total of 700 points! Not to be denied, three turns later Helena Revan hit the bullseye twice and the 200 space once to tie Redshadow at 700. That proved to be the score of the day, and a tie for first in an event not known for ties—this was the first since 2019, and only the second tie since the current version of the map was released in 2015! Astonishingly, the previous tie was also between Helena and Redshadow! Watch Out for that Sniper! Seventeen competitors took the field for this month's sniper event, and seldom have the shooters been so swift to cut short the participants' turns! Eleven people were taken out within a second of beginning, and nobody reached double digits. AngelModder had the score of the day, lasting eight seconds, followed by SephFF at six, and Loki and Helena Revan tied for third place with five seconds. Merc War: A busy group scattered across the map for this month's Merc War, but the usual suspects were there for the final eliminations! Dragon tripped Viper when she tried to make her way into his lair. Redshadow flushed Shadow from his perch on the third floor of Building 1, but Shadow escaped with minimal damage. TaKo was defeated in a rocket battle with Redshadow. Shadow then turned the tables on Redshadow, flushing him from his cover, but his quarry took him out with a homing rocket. AngelModder had hidden on the unfinished fourth level of Building 1, but Shadow helped chase him from there, and while he tried to get an angle on Redshadow while the latter was preparing to go for Dragon, Redshadow sniped him instead! With just two warriors surviving, Dragon challenged his opponent to a rematch of last month's melee final above the lava. This time nobody was thrown into the boiling deep, but Redshadow battered Dragon into submission to claim his fortieth Merc crown! But five turns later, Wolfy landed his first throw squarely on the triple-200 space, followed by a 30 and the event's only bullseye to score 1,130 points, far and away the best total of the day! Helena had to settle for second place, while Shadow came in third at 430 points. Watch Out for that Sniper! Thirteen snipers took their positions on the rooftops for this month's competition, and while the number of shooters ensured that there were no runaways, a wide variety of scores were posted, all but one of them in single digits! Dragon took the lead early on, lasting seven seconds, only to be tied by Lennuf in the very next turn! For a while it looked like that might be enough to win, but continuing his dominance from the Darts competition, Wolfy lasted eleven seconds in his turn, and was never bested, giving him his second victory on the day! Dragon and Lennuf tied for second place. Merc War: With a crowded field, it looked like anybody's game in the Merc War, but several veteran merc masters slowly whittled down the competition! Dragon rocketed RedBlueGreen and Horizonex, while Shadow pursued Beggsy in the map's lower reaches, finally taking down his target with a homing rocket that led Beggsy to fall in the lava! With Dragon, Shadow, and Redshadow remaining, Dragon invited the others to a first-of-its kind three-way melee on the small platform above the lava! Redshadow kicked Shadow into the lava, and seemed to wrap up the competition by throwing Dragon from the platform! But Dragon had a lucky escape, landing on the very edge of a rock beneath the main landing pad, and made his way back to the fight, where in a twist of fate not involving his lightsabers, he threw Redshadow to his doom to claim this month's merc title! Eleven snipers took aim—ten at a time—at their remaining companion, and the shooting was fierce, with all but one of the participants held to single digits once more! Shadow proved himself relatively untouchable, as his confusing pattern helped him survive for an event-high 22 seconds! The next-best score was turned in by Helena Revan, at just 6 seconds, and Wolfy finished in third with 5. Merc War: With several of the favourites out this month, the field seemed wide-open for some surprises, and surprises there were! After blowing away Frosty with a barrage of Rockets, Helena Revan boldly went into the Dragon's lair, where the two dueled on each level, before Dragon took a rocket to the chest point blank to drop out of the competition! But speaking of drops, Shadow got the drop on her when she went in search of him on the upper level of Building 1, leaving only Shadow and Jacobie! But Jacobie fell in a crevice, and was unable to extricate himself without the aid of the grappling hook, handing Shadow the title! TFFA: The Red Team: Rodiz (C), KingKazma, Dragon, Wolfy, & Frosty The Blue Team: Grayfox (C), Shadow, BattleDroidCommander, T`, and Helena Revan After a month off, the TFFA returned with a vengeance, as two teams of five battled it out on the Death Star! (JAWA) Darts: Seven competitors remained after the Tag-Team Tournament, as several others were called away before the League moved into its second half. The event was held on Board 1, using the adjustable platform. The first throw was taken level with the board, the second at the highest throwing position, and the last at the lowest, well below the board! Wolfy had the score of the day, hitting the triple-200 space and finishing with 830 points! Helena Revan came in second, hitting the 200 space twice and finishing with 410. Frosty also found the 200 space twice, coming in a close third at 400 points. Watch Out for that Sniper! The field continued to shrink, as more players were called away despite the fast pace of the tournament! With five competitors remaining, high scores were to be expected, and accordingly the winning time was turned in by Helena Revan, at twenty-six seconds. But she had little time to celebrate, as Wolfy equalled her mark, likewise surviving for twenty-six seconds, and securing his fifth crown of the day! If they were worried about subsequent competitors having similar good luck, they needn't have: the other three scores were each held to a single second! Merc War: Although the League flew by in near record time, the number of participants continued to decline from one event to the next, with just three remaining for the Merc War, with two more AFK. Helena Revan went on the attack early, flushing Dragon from his lair. Wolfy soon took advantage, rocketing Dragon to reduce the field to two! Helena then went looking for Wolfy, and got the drop on him, but Wolfy fought back with rockets and plasma, the two pummeling each other on the main landing pad, until finally Helena landed a plasma blast to knock Wolfy out and claim the title! TFFA: For the first time since our records of the League have been complete, there were too few participants to begin the TFFA. The three remaining competitors waited to see whether either the two AFK players would return, and checked to see whether other members were available to join, but after fifteen minutes there was no sign of further activity, and so the TFFA was cancelled. The (JAWA) League for December, 2023 was held Sunday, January 7 due to conflicts with Christmas and New Year's Eve! As customary for the final League of the year, we began on Bespin Christmas, and included some special events just for the occasion! Attendance was high, and boosted by the inclusion of a guest, Robb, who was there on behalf of the Jedi Knight League, following the announcement that JAWA and JKL would be jointly hosting a special tournament in honour of the late Sizemic. There were several first-time winners, and exciting results in a number of events! Congratulations to all of this month's winners, and thanks to Diab, Dragon, and Wolfy for helping to host the (JAWA) League! Events and Winners: Green = first time winner! In so doing, he earned the right to compete for the (JAWA) Championship! The (JAWA) Championship: Reigning (JAWA) Champion Redshadow had his work cut out for him, facing one of the toughest fighters in the game, but never one to shrink from a fight, he gave it his best effort, falling short by 65 hit points in the first round. Though he tried to regroup and come back in round two, Robb's overwhelming offense saw the visitor claim the title with 154 hit points to spare, making him the second guest to claim the championship, and the first since Shadow did it in 2007! (JAWA) Darts: The field thinned down to eight for this month's Darts competition, as several participants had other commitments, or chose to sit out the middle events of the League. A climb-the-ladder competition was held on Board 2, with three throws allotted to each participant! Redshadow led off the event with a score of 340, good enough to hold the lead until Helena Revan struck two outer bullseyes and finished at 700! Closing out the event, Wolfy scored 550 points, good enough for second place. Watch Out for that Sniper! With history as a guide, we know that a small field is no guarantee of success in the sniper competition, and once again the trusty snipers held nearly the entire field to single digits—with one notable exception! Redshadow led off with an outstanding 27-second performance, surviving nearly as long as all of the other participants put together—to claim the crown! Amber came in second in her first Sniper competition, surviving 8 seconds, followed by Helena Revan in third place with 7. Merc War: This month's Merc War was held at the North Pole! A fresh environment and fresh air made for an exciting contest, although the field narrowed quickly with several unusual occurrences! Helena Revan homed Lennuf and sniped RedBlueGreen, then Dragon was run over by a train! With Redshadow looking for a good vantage point to snipe his competition, he was nearly picked off by Helena, but had enough hit points left to survive the shot, and return one of his own, before finishing the battle with his lightsaber, and claiming the title in his signature event once more! Tauntaun Jousting: In the spirit of the season, a tauntaun joust was attempted while we were still at the North Pole. However, strange and unexpected damages and deaths led to the event being moved back to Bespin Christmas and restarted. Though the damages were fixed, the result was similar, as Helena Revan, atop her trusty tauntaun, Mittens, sabered Redshadow, then RedBlueGreen, to win the joust! High Wire Brawl: At Dragon's suggestion, a second seasonal event was added to the slate: a melee fight high above the snowy Bespin courtyard, on and around the guidewires from which festive holiday lights are strung! Unlike Melee Heaven, the goal in this event was to rack up as many kills as possible within a fixed span of time, and to nobody's surprise some of our finest melee fighters performed well! Dragon emerged on top, with 19 points in ten minutes, followed by Redshadow at 12. Lennuf and Helena Revan tied for third place at 9. TFFA: The Blue Team: Wolfy (C), Redshadow, & Helena Revan The Red Team: Amber (C), Dragon, & Lennuf Amid the ice and snow on a starry night, the blue team built a steady lead, claiming the match by a final score of 61–46. The (JAWA) League for November, 2023 was held last Sunday afternoon on the (JAWA) Server, postponed one week from the Sunday after Thanksgiving! It was another lightly-attended League, with just eleven members participating in the Duel Tournament. A new champion was crowned, the sniper competition was a runaway, Perunamaha and Redshadow each claimed four titles, and three events featured first-time winners! Congratulations to all of this month's winners, and thanks to Wolfy for helping to host the (JAWA) League! Events and Winners: Green = first time winner! The Duel Tournament: Qualifying Round Results: Fransuave defeated Xel Mooku defeated T` Redshadow defeated Perunamaha Round 1 Results: Fruansuave defeated Wolfy Mooku defeated Pearl Redshadow defeated RedBlueGreen Shadow defeated Picco Semifinal Round: Fransuave defeated Mooku Redshadow defeated Shadow Final Match: Redshadow defeated Fransuave to become this month's Duel Tournament Champion, and earned the right to compete for the (JAWA) Championship! The (JAWA) Championship: In her third consecutive title defense, reigning (JAWA) Champion Helena Revan hoped to hold off the fearsome Redshadow and keep the crown for a fourth month! But it was not to be, as Redshadow easily took the first duel with 110 hit points remaining, then defeated the defending champion with 65 hit points to spare, retaking the title that he vacated in August! FFA Events: Singles Heaven: Perunamaha Dual Heaven: Perunamaha Staff Heaven: Perunamaha Melee Heaven: Mooku Freestyle Lightsaber Event: AcéS The Tag-Team Tournament: First Round Results: Helena Revan & Perunamaha defeated Redshadow & RedBlueGreen Wolfy & Mooku defeated Xel & T` Final Match: Helena & Peruna defeated Wolfy & Mooku to win this month's Tag-Team Tournament! (JAWA) Darts: Nine competitors took their turn on Board 3, throwing from a platform that circles the board, and makes aiming especially difficult! Redshadow led off the event with a sparkling 730 points including one bullseye, and held the lead until Helena Revan bested him by 20 points, finishing with 750 points and one bullseye. Those proved to be the highest scores of the day, with the Scorewolf himself coming in third place at 380 points. Watch Out for that Sniper! After being beaten out for the Darts crown, Redshadow wasn't playing games when it came to the Sniper competition, laying claim to the title by lasting fifteen seconds as he led off the event! Though eight more participants tried their best to surpass his mark, the best of them fell short, as Mooku came in second at eleven seconds, and our trusty Timewolf third at nine. Merc War: The Merc War this month was a mix of veterans and newer faces. As the field dwindled down to the final three, nobody could have been surprised to find Redshadow or Wolfy in the mix, but Perunamaha was an unknown element! Redshadow took out Wolfy in a rocket battle, but with all of the other competitors out of the game, Peruna led the Crimson Crusher by a score of 2–1! He might have tried to hide and run out the clock, but never one to turn down a challenge, Peruna fortified himself in place and dared Redshadow to try his luck! The Scarlet Slayer could hardly resist the opportunity, and he quickly turned the tables, flushing Peruna from his hideout. For a moment it looked like the end would be anticlimactic, as Peruna took a bad jump and plummeted toward the lava—but then he disappeared in a puff of ash, as Redshadow sniped him right out of the air before he could splash down! The Ruby Rocketeer notched another merc title in his long list of victories! TFFA: The final event of this month's League was a 4–4 TFFA, led by T` for the red team, including Perunamaha, Redshadow, and Mooku, versus Wolfy for the blue team, with Shadow, Helena Revan, and RedBlueGreen. Though they fought tooth and nail, the blues were outmatched this afternoon, and the red team won by 23 points, with both Peruna and Redshadow scoring more than thirty points apiece!
