RESULTS JAWA League Results, 29 November 2020

The (JAWA) League for November, 2020 was held Sunday afternoon on the (JAWA) Server.  Twenty members participated in the Duel Tournament, which saw a number of upsets, the Darts competition was a runaway, there was a thrilling finish in the Merc War, and two members were first-time winners in their events!  Congratulations to all of this month's winners, and thanks to LoneStar and Wolfy for helping to host this month's (JAWA) League!

Final Match:

The Doctor defeated Redshadow to win this month's Duel Tournament, and earned the right to face the defending champion, Jazzy, in a best-of-three match for the (JAWA) Championship!

 

 

The (JAWA) Championship:

Jazzy started his title defense by launching a blistering attack on his challenger, beating TheDoctor in the opening duel with 167 hit points remaining.  Although the challenger made some adjustments for the second round, Jazzy's relentless assault won the day with 86 hit points to spare, ensuring that the title would remain where it was for another month!

Final Match:

Cassidy & Ansatsu defeated Dragon & Helena to win this month's tag-team tournament!

 

 

(JAWA) Darts:

Fourteen competitors took their turn on Board 1, with a tour of the throwing platforms, beginning at the highest position on the adjustable platform, then circling the other throwing platforms, and finishing at the lowest position on their return to the adjustable platform.  Scores were mixed, with Redshadow taking an early lead at 990 points, with one bullseye.  That held up until the second half, when perennial darts aficionado Wolfy hit the triple-200 space twice, to take a commanding lead with a total of 1,720 points!  That was good enough for the win, with Arceus finishing in third at 980 points, with one bullseye.

 

 

Watch Out for that Sniper!

Ten competitors remained to try their luck on the sniping fields of Taspir III, braving a slate of experienced marksmen for the title of the fastest man alive (however briefly)!  And this month, the fastest man turned out to be a woman, as Helena Revan outlasted the field by surviving for seven seconds!  The snipers were on top form, holding everyone to single digits for the second consecutive month, with Wolfy finishing in second place, at five seconds, and Ansatsu lasting four seconds, and rounding out the top three.

 

 

Merc War:

This month's merc war began with a furious onslaught that saw several competitors drop out early.  The final three were Cassidy, Dragon, and Redshadow, the latter two to no-one's surprise, as they've combined for seven wins in the last ten months.  Cassidy was the first to fall, losing a rocket battle to Redshadow in the armory of Building 1—although it was a close call for the scarlet eclipse.  That set up a showdown between two titans of firepower, but by mutual agreement, they chose to settle the match in a melee brawl above a boiling pool of lava!  Sharp-eyed viewers might recall that two months ago, a similar arrangement resulted in the event's first tie since 2018, as both competitors fell to their deaths!  But this time, Dragon was on top form, and he sent Redshadow plummeting into the molten rock to claim his third merc victory in four months!

 

 

Team Free-for-All:

The Red Team: the Joker (C), Redshadow, Fransuave, M3m0, Darman, & Niko

The Blue Team: Ansatsu (C), Cassidy, Helena Revan, Wolfy, & Dragon

 

The two sides exchanged the lead repeatedly for the first few minutes, before the red team began pulling away, winning the match by a final score of 100–93.  Niko was picked by the blue team, but was switched to red after M3m0 was unable to participate, leaving six players on the blue team and four on red.
