Meme of the Week

Hi all, thank you for attending my bare minimum effort to contribute to the clan.

 

The idea is very simple, and based on my inability to make a signature. 

 

Memes are popular. Memes are funny. People like new memes when the old memes don't quite fire the dopamine anymore. 

JAWA has a lot of funny people. Maybe do a Meme of the Week competition, and use specific topics/themes like you already do for sig of the week. 

We already did this idea in the past, but it wasn't a competition. It died out during the time that the pandemic hit https://jawaclan.com/topic/24255-jawa-meme-topic/?&page=20#comments

Memes don't require as much skill. More people, more participation. More participation, more possibility for those dopamine spikes.

I think it has merit. I know my signature making skills suck hence why I never compete but a MEME competition? hooooooh boy, you'd see an entry every time. I like it.

Since it's a competition I think everyone should make them themselves. Plenty of free sites that are available to help people make memes or re-use popular templates.

I note that next week's SotW competition was announced as "create a meme", so this might be serendipitous.

I'm personally fine with this as an additional contest post-next SotW since as mentioned, will be "create a meme". As for who handles it, @IronSkull86 and @RoseTyler both take care of the contests around here of SotW and wallpaper. That would sort of leave the decision in their hands if they want to add another contest in and if they want to assign someone to do it if they don't want to.

I'd love to see a test run and witness what people come up with. If it doesn't garner enough interest, then at least we tried

Happy enough to add another contest, it's why we have a contest section for others to go!

As for who hosts, that can be whoever is interested. Would love to see somebody step up for it!

I wouldn't mind hosting it! It'd have to be after the new year though since I will be AFK for the month of December.

If you get it going I will definitely participate. I cannot host it because then I will be too active to be retired!!
