A long overdue apology

Hi all,

 

I've been wanting to post this for quite some time, but I've shied away a bit mostly due to the timing of things, it's been a hectic couple of years (All for good reasons).

 

In October 2017, I left (JAWA) after 13 years. I'm not going to air dirty laundry in public on why I left, but most are aware and I still stand by that decision. I didn't take leaving lightly, especially after leading the clan for nearly half my life at that point. I made almost all of the good friends I have today because of this clan including my now wife Draggy, but after what transpired privately, I had to distance myself from this place.

 

The way I left was abrupt and harmed the clan short term, which I apologise for. I could've handled that a lot better, but instead I let things get very chaotic. Not too long afterwards, I went on to make a new clan called Arcadia around 2018/2019, which to be blunt was pretty much a middle finger to this place... I did the opposite of everything I did in (JAWA), which started quite a lot of fires unfortunately. I acted like an idiot during those times, and again, I apologise.

 

After that, I hermited in a group called Foxhole and just played games with them, which is still alive and kicking today which houses all of my closest friends (Including a bunch of ex and current JAWA leadership). During the early days of Foxhole (2019-2021) there were several occasions where drama would seemingly come out of left field suddenly, and in my opinion we reacted to it very poorly. For my role in those times, I apologise.

 

In the last 4-5 years I've really come to peace with my view on the clan and how I remembered it. I honestly didn't want any association with it between 2017-2021 for how things went down during those times. Again, a lot of that was my fault, so I only have myself to blame. In more modern times, I look at (JAWA) as the reason for my happiness, something I should be proud to have been a part of and helped build.

 

I'm not going to mislead anyone here, I will be playing on the server going forwards actively. At some point in the coming months, when I feel the time is right, I will apply. I've been seriously considering this since the 20th anniversary late last year... I hadn't felt welcomed by the clan like that in a very long time, and it stuck with me over the last 8 months. I have zero expectations on being successful with my history since leaving, and if I am denied, it will not change anything and I will happily accept the decision from the clan.

 

So to summarise, I apologise for my actions after leaving the clan, and for leaving so abruptly. I'm not asking anyone that doesn't like me here to suddenly be my friend, to accept this apology or to even be neutral with me, but if you do, that'd be a big bonus for me. I am doing this to put a line in the sand, own the mistakes I made and move on.

Hey Link, if you're who I think you are, its nice to see you again!

 

I have no idea about the things that transpired, as that was during the time I was gone.. but either way, I know what it takes to be able to recognize your own faults and apologize for them, and that speaks wonders to your character in my eyes.

 

All I'll really say is... I look forward to catching you on the server and hanging out sometime!

Hey SiLink! It's good to see you on forum! I didn't know much about the issues in 2016 or is it in 2017? Since I left since in 2014 not too long as in JAWA clan and I believe if my memory is right, the last time I was there in 2016 is the announcement of big changes with ranks and adjustment and promotions and many things. Bear in mind, I may not know the issues because it was inside the clan. I know we're not bound to be perfect as we will make mistakes, and I am sure we all done at these one particular points and we can learn from it. There is no need to bring the past that could be so painful, let push that aside and focus on what make you happy the most, including to my JAWA families. You may not realize how much we all missed you Link, because you have inspired all of us including myself as a leader and a friend. Thank you for what you're doing Link, it means alot to me.

But as a former clanmember and a friend, I promised I will play with you more and make it a memory for you.

Though I lack the years and experience to grasp the full scope of (JAWA)'s journey, numerous relationships have formed and even thrived because of your efforts.

I believe these bonds are what have made (JAWA) a truly special and long-lasting community. Going far enough back, most of these connections stem back to you.

 

Many lives have been positively affected due to the responsibility you took upon yourself from the beginning. This clan very well might not even exist if it was not for you.

I myself can attest through how my life has changed. I met some of my closest friends here and would have never picked up arts, which grew to become one of my most treasured hobbies.

 

Nothing is beyond repair, and it is pleasant seeing change for the better. There is honor to be found in laying closure for past setbacks and sincerely striving towards a greater future.

I am eager for what lies ahead and wish you nothing but the very best moving forward.

You're honestly one of the friendliest persons i have ever met online, i'm always glad to see you around. About the drama stuff i don't know much about as usual. I usually steer clear of it ,or i just simply don't remember because i don't tend to focus on anything negative ☮️

 

We all live and learn, and as time goes on and it gets more and more important that we cherish the community we have, and enjoy it as long as possible

I only know bits and pieces about ya, honestly. Whatever happened in the past.... that's over with. Also, it takes guts to apologize sometimes when you feel that you have wronged others. Regarding whatever was done in the past that was negative.... my hope is that everyone who was involved or affected can "let the past die" (yes I quoted Kylo Ren lol.) 

 

If JAWA is where you want to be, I hope you're able to find your way back in with positive things going forward. Thank you for keeping it alive all those years ago.
