Current Projects
(JAWA) Darts
In April, 2012, Ronny began making a specialized map for events such as (JAWA) Darts, but was unable to finish due to real-life commitments. Helena Revan then took up the project, using several of Ronny's concepts to design a new Bespin-themed darts map with floating targets and moving platforms. A working alpha was ready before a computer upgrade sidelined Helena, and Zajac began working on a new Yavin-themed darts map as a replacement. With help from Redsaurus to get MacRadiant working again, Helena returned to the project in August, and since then has worked with Zajac and other mappers to produce a working beta map, which was first used for the October 2012 (JAWA) League.
The finished map will include three targets, each with different throwing platforms and obstacles, and viewing stands, a concession stand, and a recreation area suitable for FFA, TFFA, Duel, Power Duel, Jedi Master, or Role-Playing. As of the last beta release, the targets were finished, and the recreation area was about 75% finished. Planned additions include an indoor training area, cloud car vehicle, improved NPC, working transport, and a tower lounge.
(JAWA) Event Map
This map, still in the earliest planning stages, will feature dueling and training arenas, areas for various types of events, such as TFFA or gauntlet, a new council chamber, and a new ceremonial hall. Construction is expected to begin early in 2013, after a team has been recruited and assigned specific tasks, including terrain, texture and shader design, and other specialized duties.
History
On November 29, 2012, SiLink announced the formation of several (JAWA) Clubs, nominating Helena Revan to manage the map-making club. The new director took charge by setting up this page as the (JAWA) Mapping clubhouse on December 9. The first order of business will be to recruit new members, followed by the process of recruiting a separate team to begin discussion of the new (JAWA) events map, scheduled to begin construction in early 2013.
