Information

This is the command to change both the map and game type on a server, and is one of the most complex and important to understand. An ammap command consists of three parts: the /ammap command itself, followed by the game type, and the name of the map to be used. For instance, the command /ammap 0 mp/ffa3 tells the server to load the Tatooine City FFA map for the FFA game type.

Game Types

The game types, which have the same numbering in all mods, are as follows:

# Gametype

0
1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
HL

Free-for-All
Holocron Free-for-All
Jedi Master
Duel
Power Duel
Capture-the-Ysalamiri
Team Free-for-All
Siege
Capture-the-Flag
Highlander

Holocron Free-For-All, Jedi Master, and Capture-the-Ysalamiri are not supported by most versions of Jedi Academy Plus, although they are available on some other mods. The Highlander game type was developed for JA+, but is somewhat glitchy, and may or may not work.

Maps

All of the maps listed below are base maps that come with Jedi Academy MultiPlayer, and must be preceded by “mp/”. Custom maps have different codes, which can usually be found in the accompanying readme file, or by typing /dir maps in the console to see the directory. The name of a map is the same as that of its .bsp file, but without the .bsp extension.

All of the FFA and Duel maps are suitable for Free-for-All and Team Free-for-All. The CTF maps can also be used, but they have only one spawn point, which makes them less suitable than the others. The Siege maps are not suitable for other events, because they contain barriers between different areas of the maps that cannot be removed except in the Siege game type, but they can be loaded.

All of the maps used in Jedi Academy Single Player can also be loaded in the Multi Player game. However, some are quite large and may contain NPC’s that can cause a server to crash. SP maps must be preceded by “sp/”.

The following table contains the map names for the JK2 Map Pack, which are also suitable for most events. There are no Siege maps, but both the CTF and duel maps are designed for use in FFA and TFFA as well as CTF and Duel. Note that none of these map names include the "mp/" file directory.

And these are the map names for the Raven Bonus Maps. Like the JKA maps, they do include the "mp/" directory prefix. The CTF map can be used for FFA and TFFA, but the duel map only includes duel spawn points, so there may be spawn frags if used in other game modes.
